Project Analysis

Team Services is uniquely qualified to provide all aspects of project analysis and evaluation for teams, corporations, venues and municipalities. We’re thoroughly versed in current trends in the naming right industry and provide in-depth revenue analyses for existing and potential professional franchises.

We examine venue features, estimate the number of events and attendance, and anticipate tenants. We provide analysis of trends in ticketing, sponsorships, broadcast deals and naming rights agreements and follow-up with presentation of revenue projections to ownership, key executives and potential investors.

We’ve prepared brief case studies for a few of our Sponsorship Sales clients: The Virginia Baseball Club, University of Michigan, San Antonio Spurs-SBC Center, and the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Virginia Baseball Club
VA_baseball80vThe Virginia Baseball Club had a mission: to bring a Major League Baseball franchise to Northern Virginia. To help them accomplish that mission, they called on Team Services. We started with an in-depth analysis of revenue potential, including trends in ticketing, sponsorships, broadcast and naming rights opportunities. Team Services then presented an overview to potential investors and the relocation committee for the Montreal Expos.

University of Michigan
michiganTeam Services was retained by the University of Michigan to conduct research and an analysis to evaluate sponsorship opportunities at Michigan Stadium. We started by analyzing and evaluating market and stadium profiles for comparison to Ann Arbor, Michigan and Michigan Stadium, and went on to analyze trends in public assembly facility industry and sponsorship/naming rights as marketing tools.

San Antonio Spurs – SBC Center
spurs60vSBC Communications had expressed significant interest in the naming rights to the San Antonio Spurs’ new facility. Team Services was retained to consult and help the Spurs evaluate the opportunity. We provided in-depth market analysis, comparative research studies and package valuation suggestions. Using Team Services’ findings, the Spurs subsequently entered into a naming rights partnership for their future arena, SBC Center.

Pittsburgh Penguins
Pittsburgh Penguings (small)Team Services was retained by the Pittsburgh Penguins to conduct an analysis of the naming rights opportunity for Mellon Bank with regards to the transition from the current Mellon Arena into a potential new facility.  The purpose of this assessment was to establish a mutually beneficial naming rights price point that would include the final years in the current arena leading into the opening of the new building.
